Brooks Koepka is at a major and feeling as good as ever. No issues with his health. His major trophy count is at five. Koepka isn't the least bit bothered about the future of LIV Golf or anything else involving the PGA Tour partnership with the Saudi national wealth fund. He says he enjoys chaos because he's able to focus clearly on what he's trying to do. He was runner-up in the Masters. He won the PGA Championship. The next test is Los Angeles Country Club for the U.S. Open and his bid for another multiple major year.

Berry Henson is a part-time Uber driver who has traveled the world to get to the U.S. Open. He is 43. He has played in more than a dozen tours around the globe. He still picks up the occasional passenger. And now he's at Los Angeles Country Club as one of the U.S. Open long shots. That's the great appeal of this Open. Anyone can play. Anyone can dream. Olin Browne Jr. knows the feeling. He father won three times on the PGA Tour and played 12 U.S. Opens. The son finally gets his first crack at age 34.

Victor Wembanyama's first moment in the NBA is now just a few days away. The NBA Finals are over and the league will soon turn its attention to the draft. And that means the attention will shift to Wembanyama as well. He's the French teen who has been labeled a generational talent and is getting the sort of pre-draft attention that nobody has experienced since LeBron James when he was entering the league 20 years ago.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s road from a crumpled figure sprawled out on the Sofi Stadium turf in Los Angeles with a torn ACL in Super Bowl 56 to taking the field for the first time as a Raven was an arduous one, physically and emotionally. It’s no wonder, then, that the simple act of slipping on a jersey for the start of a mandatory three-day minicamp Tuesday at the team’s facility in Owings Mills ...

ANAHEIM, Calif. – I have trouble deciding what to have for lunch, so, no, I don’t envy the Angels’ predicament. They’re in a big league pickle. Wedged in a between a hard-foul-off-the-foot-and-a-collision-at-the-plate dilemma: To trade Shohei, or not to trade Shohei? The heart says no. The head says … no. It’s not happening, anyway. Shohei Ohtani isn’t getting dealt. Not as long as these ...

Nikola Jokic guided Denver to its first NBA title in team history, as the Nuggets overcame dreadful shooting and a late flurry from Miami's Jimmy Butler to squeeze past the Heat for a frantic 94-89 victory. Jokic had 28 points and 16 rebounds for the Nuggets, who missed 20 of their first 22 3-point attempts and seven of their first 13 free throws but figured out how to close out the series on their home floor in Game 5. Butler scored eight straight points to help the Heat take an 87-86 lead with 2:45 left after trailing by seven. He made two more free throws with 1:58 left to help Miami regain a one-point lead. Then, Bruce Brown got an offensive rebound and tip-in to give the Nuggets the lead for good.

TAMPA, Fla. — It’s been a busy offseason for the Bucs, with the retirement of quarterback Tom Brady (again) and the recruitment of Baker Mayfield. A lot of players were released (offensive lineman Donovan Smith, running back Leonard Fournette and kicker Ryan Succop among them), key coaches (offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich) were fired and others hired (Leftwich’s replacement, Dave ...

Former UCLA softball star Megan Faraimo was one of 12 players with the option of choosing between two professional leagues after being drafted by both. Faraimo chose Athletes Unlimited over Women's Professional Fastpitch. Washington's Baylee Klingler, Kentucky's Kayla Kowalik, Arkansas' Chenise Delce, Florida's Charla Echols and Northwestern's Jordyn Rudd all picked WPF. The leagues are riding softball's rising wave of popularity. And if USA Softball has its way, the two leagues will work together for the overall betterment of the sport.

U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick has given back his trophy. He just can't get rid of the questions about Saudi involvement in golf and LIV. It was like that a year ago when LIV Golf was just getting started. And it's like that now with the shocking news that the PGA Tour is now partnering with Saudi's wealth fund in a new commercial venture. No one seems to have any answers a week later as to what it means. All that is going on while players are getting ready for a new U.S. Open test at Los Angeles Country Club.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly. The person also said PSG would not allow Mbappe to leave as a free agent, raising the possibility of an immediate bidding war by other clubs and potential transfer this summer.

Just four players who appeared for the U.S. at last year's World Cup are on a largely junior varsity roster for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, including just one regular starter: goalkeeper Matt Turner. The 23-man roster selected by new interim coach B.J. Callaghan for the championship of the Confederation of North and Central America and the Caribbean has three others who saw limited World Cup time: forwards Jesús Ferreira and Jordan Morris, and right back DeAndre Yedlin. Three additional players were on the World Cup roster without getting into a match: goalkeeper Sean Johnson, defender Aaron Long and midfielder Cristian Roldan.

Saquon Barkley’s most passionate comment Sunday night in Jersey City was his last one. While lamenting teams’ suppression of the running back market by using the franchise tag, Barkley pivoted into a detailed explanation of why not every running back’s situation is identical. Every team is, in his words, “different.” “There’s a [stat] that goes up about quarterbacks in the Super Bowl and how ...

The leader of a Senate subcommittee wants the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia's LIV Golf to present records about negotiations that led to their new agreement and plans for what golf will look like under the arrangement. Sen. Richard Blumenthal sent letters to PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and LIV CEO Greg Norman spelling out the "serious questions regarding the reasons for and terms behind the announced agreement." Blumenthal, who is chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, said he also wanted to hear the tour's plans to retain its tax-exempt status.

On his way to a record-breaking 2022 season, one in which he rushed for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns while creating a YouTube amusement park, Justin Fields made it perfectly clear. Those rushing exploits were fun and all. But his elevator to stardom as an NFL quarterback must be powered by his growth as a passer. Sure, Fields acknowledged a slight bit of disappointment in finishing 63 ...

Saquon Barkley said Sunday that sitting out the 2023 NFL season would be an option to discuss if he and the Giants don’t agree to a contract extension by the July 17 deadline. “I think that’s a conversation, like you said, that’s a card I could play,” Barkley said after hosting a kids’ football camp with AMPT Events at Caven Point Field in Jersey City. “That comes up in conversation if ...
